MESSAGE OF THE MAYOR,

Welcome to Cagwait!

A blend of white sand beaches, rich culture, and cheerful people truly make Cagwait a happy place to live in.

Tourism is considered one of the main sectors in bringing development to our communities. This administration’s top priority is to strengthen the “4 (four) Pillars,” which are: (1) sustainable fishing, (2) abundant farming, (3) tourism vitality, and (4) industrial takeoff. These programs and projects bring community-based approaches that will help sustainable development obtain momentum and progress forward.

We intend to achieve a harmonious balance between our aspirations as a tourist haven and an agricultural depot of Surigao del Sur. With its God-given natural resources, which, with greater focus to be developed as tourist spots would likely boost the local economy and eventually provide local employment.

The wonders of Cagwait never cease, as there are places yet to be explored, a potential for growth yet to be tapped; filled with pride in way of life that respects and values nature but is also open to progress. We invite you to discover more about Cagwait and all of its wonderful features.
