“Embracing Age: Living a Life with Dignity and Purpose,” the Local Government Unit of Cagwait, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), joined the nationwide celebration of Elderly Filipino Week last October 3, 2025 at the Barangay Aras-asan Gymnasium.

Present during the event were Vice Mayor Melchie C. Tuscano, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, Barangay Captains, Ma’am Iluminada T. Corvera, RSW (MSWD Officer), Sir Generi B. Pinto (Project Development Officer II – NCSC updates), Sir Homero Earl S. Elpa (Admin Aide VI – PhilHealth Programs & Services), Sir Johnny C. Tagsa (OSCA Head), together with Senior Citizen Chapter Presidents and Senior Citizen members.

Program Highlights included:

Giving of cakes to October birthday celebrants ages 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, and 100

Senior Citizen Got Talent showcasing talents and creativity

PhilHealth Onsite Registration for senior citizens

Fun parlor games that brought joy and camaraderie

The activity was successfully facilitated by the dedicated MSWDO team, honoring the invaluable contributions of our senior citizens while fostering dignity, respect, and care for the elderly community.
